“Stepford Wives” remake involves computer programmer, Charles Dera (2010’s “Trash Talk“), and his wife, Raylene, moving into a gated community in Bangkok, Connecticut where all the men work for the same tech company and all are seemingly married to submissive, ultra-conservative, impossibly sexy Asian women. Everything seems perfect on the surface… for a time. Worrying Raylene is the fact that all the women in the area look and act the same, to the point where she begins to suspect that something sinister is at work in the sleepy community. Peeling back the layers, a massive conspiracy begins to take shape, one with deadly implications for anyone unlucky enough to discover the truth.
Designed as a vehicle for sultry Asian hottie, Jessica Bangkok (she all but fades into the background, save for the film’s hottest sex scene), the film incorporates hardcore sex with elements of Ira Levin’s “Stepford Wives and John Carpenter’s “Halloween 3”, making for a taut little erotic chiller. It’s always tricky business when you mix horror and the horizontal (see my “Evil Head” review) but in this instance Eli Cross aka Bryn Pryor (he’s credited as director in the end credits) and Skye Blue (she’s credited as director in the opening credits) manage to crack the formula. This is the kind of film where, if you haven’t seen the source material, you’ll actually want to fast-forward through the naughty bits just to get back to the story. Yeah, it’s that good.
Raylene (2011’s “Rezervoir Doggs“), as usual, does amazing work playing an inquisitive housewife desperate for answers to strange events in her midst. Charles Dera doesn’t fare as well, but it’s not entirely his fault. The filmmakers don’t take the time to establish that he is unhappy or in a loveless marriage, so his transition to the dark side in this film’s second half isn’t as believable. Oh well, what can you do? In a supporting role, Slick Rhodes (2011’s “This Ain’t Conan The Barbarian XXX – This Is A Parody“), a fantastic character actor in his own right, pretty much steals the show. Turning up the creepy to 11, Slick seems to revel in his vile character, playing the ringleader of a cult of misogynists hellbent on making women in their ideal image. His “Come with us, Mrs. Dera” line at the end sent a chill up my spine.
After moving into their new mansion, Raylene and Charles spy out their kitchen window their next door neighbours, Nick Manning (2010’s “House Of Ass 12“) and Asa Akira (2012’s “Up My Asian Ass“), getting intimate in their backyard. Asa looks absolutely ravishing here, having her shaved pussy worked over by Manning first with his tongue and then with his cock. Manning screws her in reverse cowgirl, standing missionary and doggy, eventually arriving at his own orgasm, which he spurts off across Asa’s face and into her open mouth. Manning resists the urge to belt out his patented “droppin’ loads” tagline, and probably for the better. This isn’t that kind of movie. Ms. Akira cleans his cock off and scoops the semen off her body and into her mouth. Later, Nick Manning over-loads Asa’s circuits when he tries to stick his cock up her ass. Sadly, this cock n’ ass business is strictly off-camera and plays into the story in that it helps to reveal the truth about what the women of Bangkok are really made of. Here’s a clue… It ain’t shit.
Aroused by their neighbours sexy backyard antics, Charles Dera and the always classy Raylene (God, she’s sexy!) decide to christen the house proper by fucking right there in the living-room. From what I can tell, this is their first and only time working together and it turns out to be a fairly steamy little romp. With a swanky music track blaring in the background, Dera undresses Raylene and then makes love to her in reverse cowgirl, doggy and missionary on a large couch. Dera drops a load across her stomach.
A late night company meeting at the home of Dera’s boss (Slick Rhodes) ends with one of his co-workers, Randy Spears (1991’s “Best Of Alice Springs 2“), showing him how things are done in Bangkok. Given their previous discussion, Dera is slowly coming around (read: being brainwashed) to Bangkok’s dirty little secret. Spears propositions Rhodes’ wife, Beti Hana, for sex right there in front of everybody… and nobody objects. On the kitchen table, Spears spears Beti as Dera, Rhodes and another co-worker, David Park (2012’s “Venus In Furs“), watch. Cutie Hana ogles creepy her hubby as veteran Randy slams her in missionary, doggy and reverse cowgirl. Randy must have been saving up… or eating lots of vitamins because the fucker literally drenches the left side of Beti’s face in his thick, globular semen. She cleans him off.
Stopping by with some afternoon chow, Raylene is shocked to discover that her next door neighbour and newest BFF, Tiffany Taylor (credits: Tiffany Tyler), has seemingly been replaced by another woman, Kina Kai. The truth arriving like a solid punch to the cranium, Raylene suddenly clues into the fact that, yeah, the shit is seriously fucked and she is in great danger. Charging out of the house, Raylene runs smack dab into Tiff’s hubby, Evan Stone (2013’s “Clerks XXX: A Porn Parody“). Stone plays sinister here, commanding his replacement wife, Kai, to perform oral sex on him on his freshly cleaned counter. He also screws her in three positions (standing missionary, cowgirl and missionary) before spraying his genetic gunk across her stomach.
Arriving back at her home, Raylene is eager to gather her shit and scoot. Upstairs she finds her man Dera in bed with Jessica Bangkok (2009’s “Cheating Sports Celebrity Wives“). He coldly informs Raylene that she has been replaced and that, yeah, her future prospects aren’t looking so bright anymore. As Raylene makes a futile attempt at getting out of Bangkok, Dera decides to spends a few minutes getting deeper into… Bangkok. Yeah, I suck. Easily the hottest scene of the film, Bangkok’s sexy high-pitched squeals (soooo hot!) and big flopping tits make for a gorgeous show as she gets plowed by Dera in a trio of positions. He spurts off across her stomach to end the scene. Thwarting her escape plans, Raylene finds Rhodes and his crew of goons waiting for her. They lead her away. Cue scary music and overlay it atop the end credits. And done. An enjoyable effort.
