In the past year Eddie Powell has made two films involving people looking for missing dogs. One was a romantic comedy titled Lost And Found, while the other was a parody of that much beloved animated series from the 70s, “Scooby Do”. Could this running theme of searching for lost dogs be a metaphor for Powell’s own quest to be taken seriously as a filmmaker? Naw, I’m just talking out of my ass. On a serious note, from the trailer alone, “Lost and Found” is shaping up to be one of the best adult films to be released in years, but I have to wait, as it is still looking for a vendor to list it. Dagnabit. In the meantime, I grabbed his other dog film, Scooby Do: A XXX Parody. Zoinks!

Eddie Powell is a filmmaker. He’s a real filmmaker. He should be taking Hollywood by storm, alas, he’s relegated to porn… for now. I hope he never leaves. His films remind me why I started watching porn to begin with. His productions always have that professional look that gives the impression of a bigger-budget than he’s probably been afforded. Plus, he knows how to tell a story. Granted, Scooby Do: A XXX Parody is merely a variant of an old Scooby Do episode, the fact that he’s able to incorporate a bunch of sex scenes into the narrative in a way that it doesn’t take away from the story (or the mystery) hints at his ability as a craftsman. His writing partner, Tyler Scott, also adds in a sequence in which two perspectives of a single moment unfold at separate points in the film building toward a spirited sex scene. When was the last time you saw non-linear in a porno? Plus, the movie as a whole is just a lot of fun. A hallway scene involving characters being chased from room to room by a masked lunatic is hilarious, and probably took them a better part of two hours to shoot. Also, is that pubic hair I spy with my little eye. Nice attention to detail, Mr. Powell. Way to 70s the joint up.

Powell’s choice in casting is also seamless. Chad Alva as the perpetually stoned Shaggy is near-perfect. I loved his wide-eyed, slow-talk delivery style, banging out the most innocuous lines as if he’s just stumbled upon the theory of relativity and is desperate to explain it without quite knowing how. He even gets that funky walk down. Interestingly, Powell would bring him back to play yet another lovable stoner in Lost and Found. Michael Vegas is stiff and rigid in his role as Fred, as he should be. There’s even a nod to Fred’s questionable sexual orientation at one point in the film. Considering that Vegas began his career in gay porn, the casting couldn’t be more ironic. I’m surprised that Vegas let him go there. Bubbly Bree “Rach” Olson is delightfully dippy as Daphne, while Bobbi Starr is mesmerizing as the brainy, introverted Velma. Any one who has ever taken a spin over to Bobbi’s blog knows that she’s one of the smartest, classiest gals working in porn today – and every bit of it comes through in this character.

Our mystery opens with Shaggy waking up in bed after a wild one-night stand only to discover that his Great Dane, Scooby Do, is missing. Shaggy calls in the team, Velma, Fred and Daphney, to help him search for his missing pooch. They hop in the Shaggin’ Wagon and it’s off to the giant, lavish mansion they go, the site of Shag’s tryst from the the night before. By accident, they stumble upon some missing loot in one of the rooms and before long they are unravelling a much deeper mystery – one that might be tied into a string of local bank robberies. There’s even an unmasked, villainous Evan Stone, in a nonsex cameo, delivering that famous recurring speel: “I would have gotten away with it too if it wasn’t for you meddling kids.”  The only downside is that the central character of the title, Scooby, is never actually shown on camera. Apparently Powell didn’t have it in his budget for a giant animated dog. That’s fine, the movie works without him.

In flashback, Chad Alva tells of how he was seduced by a woman dressed in a fairy costume, played by Lily Labeau, at a party. They head into the backroom for a lengthy screw session, that involves tattooed Alva humping her in about a half dozen positions before finally exploding a whopper of a cumshot across her face and into her open mouth. She cleans him off. Labeau is very pretty, shoulder-length blonde hair, thin and medium sized tits. She has a sexy attitude that kept the scene moving.

After Alva’s trip down memory lane, Michael Vegas and Bree Olson decide that they need to work off some pheromonal pangs, right there in front of Starr and Alva. Vegas and Bree run through all the usual positions, with Bree electing to take it up the ass in reverse cowgirl. Even despite the mileage, Bree still looks good and knows exactly what to say, where to look and what to do, to sell a scene. He eventually unloads across her face and into her open mouth. She cleans him up.

Later, as the group investigate the giant mansion where Shag had his fling, Bobbi Starr tells Alva of how she snuck off to the bathroom to rub one out to his story of screwing the fairy.

The is the scene I mentioned earlier, as the first segment suddenly replays from Starr’s perspective as she finger-jockeys her girly parts in the toilet. Starr looks particularly dreamy here, even in an over-sized turtle neck and dark glasses. I love nerdy gals anyway, so I was pretty much into this scene before I was into this scene, if you know what I mean. Typically solo-only bores me, but Starr, as always, makes it all good.

Following Starr’s flashback, she makes her play for Alva, undressing and throwing herself at him. What she lacks in cooth, she makes up for in aggression here. “I’m gonna make you forget all about that slut,” she tells Alva, while physically tossing him across the bed like a rag doll. She made me forget. Starr has a ton of energy and Alva proves an adequate mate for her. Like Bree, she has a lot of mileage on her, and, at times, her trade fake moans, are grating. Who cares? Honestly, I love that she’s able to maintain that high-pitched Velma voice throughout the sexing. It’s cute. Alva blows his load across her stomach, after screwing her in a half-dozen positions. It’s a smaller load than the one he produced with Lily earlier, leading me to believe that Powell’s got him pulling doubles.

Later, in a bid to throw off the masked killer who’s spent the better part of the movie following them around the mansion, Bree Olson and Bobbi Starr elect to indulge in some lesbian sexplay, as Alva and Vegas hide under the bed. This is a fantastic lezzie screw that gets even better when both gals go scissor leg clit to clit for a bit. You just don’t see that enough in porn these days. It’s hot. I want more.

As the gang huddle away in a room, they decide that it would be the best time for a little fourway action. See, in the animated series, whenever Shaggy or Scoob were in the most amount of trouble, they’d typically use that time to find a snack. So, because this is a porn variant, when the gang gets into trouble, they immediately look for a snack of a different kind. Vegas and Olson pair off while Alva and Starr opt to recreate some of their previous scene’s magic. They tire of each other quick, and decide to switch off, with Alva getting his shot Olson while Vegas takes a turn on Starr. After testing each other’s waters, they eventually go back, and Vegas ass-fucks Bree for a second time. Starr strokes/sucks Alva off across her face and into her open mouth and then she cleans him up. Vegas and Bree repeat it, with Bree lovingly playing with his cum before and after the oral clean-up.

In the final moments, we discover that dun dun dun Evan Stone was really the masked bank robber and that Scooby wasn’t missing at all. He was over at Scrappy’s place the whole time. Wouldn’t you friggin’ know it. Interesting that in both of Powell’s movies, “Lost and Found” and “Scooby Do: A XXX Parody”, the dog was never actually missing.
